Toyota 4Runner: Installation

INSTALLATION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

HINT:

  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL POWER LIFT STEP ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the power lift step assembly with the 2 nuts and 4 bolts.

Torque:

16 N·m {163 kgf·cm, 12 ft·lbf}

(b) Connect the connector.

2. INSTALL STEP PLATE

(a) Open the door and deploy the side auto step fully.

(b) Using a 5 mm hexagon wrench, install the step plate with the 4 hexagon bolts.

Torque:

12 N·m {122 kgf·cm, 9 ft·lbf}

HINT:

After replacing the power lift step assembly with a new one, install the step plate, and then cut off the clamp with the power lift step assembly extended.
