INSTALLATION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

HINT:

A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart (See page ).

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Attach the 2 guides to install the instrument panel sub-assembly.

(b) Connect each connector and attach the clamps and claws.

(c) Install the 2 passenger airbag bolts.

Torque:

20 N·m {204 kgf·cm, 15 ft·lbf}

(d) Install the bolt labeled A.

(e) Install the 6 bolts <E> and nut <F>.

2. INSTALL 4 WHEEL DRIVE CONTROL ECU NO. 2 (for 4WD)

(a) for VF2A:

Install the 4 wheel drive control ECU No. 2 (See page ).

(b) for VF2BM:

Install the 4 wheel drive control ECU No. 2 (See page ).

(c) for VF4BM:

Install the 4 wheel drive control ECU No. 2 (See page ).

3. INSTALL DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER)

4. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

5. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Attach the 2 clips, 4 claws and 3 guides to install the No. 1 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.

6. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Attach the 2 clips, 3 claws and 3 guides to install the No. 2 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.

7. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Attach the 4 clips and 2 guides to install the No. 1 instrument panel register assembly.

8. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY

HINT:

Use the same procedure as for the No. 1 instrument panel register assembly.

9. INSTALL LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o Climate Control Seat System)

(a) Connect 2 connectors.

(b) Attach the 4 clips to install the lower center instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.

(c) Install the 2 screws <B>.

10. INSTALL LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Climate Control Seat System)

(a) Connect 3 connectors.

(b) Attach the 4 clips to install the lower center instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.

(c) Install the 2 screws <B>.

11. INSTALL NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKETS (for Navigation Receiver Type)

12. INSTALL RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKETS (for Radio and Display Type)

13. INSTALL HEATER CONTROL ASSEMBLY

14. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Connect each connector.

(b) Attach the 10 clips and guide to install the lower instrument panel sub-assembly.

(c) Install the 3 screws <B> and 2 bolts <C>.

15. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX DOOR COVER

(a) Attach the 2 claws and 2 guides to install the instrument panel box door cover.

HINT:

Use the same procedure for all the instrument panel box door covers.

16. INSTALL LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

17. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT COVER LH

(a) Attach the 4 claws to install the lower instrument cover LH.

18. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Attach the 3 clips and 2 guides to install the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.

19. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

20. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Connect each connector and hood lock control cable assembly.

(b) Attach the 13 clips and 2 guides to install the lower instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly.

(c) Install the 2 bolts <C>.

(d) Attach the 2 claws to close the cover.

21. INSTALL COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

22. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Attach the 7 clips to install the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.

23. INSTALL NO. 2 SWITCH HOLE BASE

(a) Connect each connector.

(b) Attach the 6 clips and 2 guides to install the No. 2 switch hole base.

24. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY

(a) w/o Smart Key System:

(1) Connect the cooler thermistor.

(2) Attach the 4 clips to install the lower instrument panel finish panel assembly.

(b) w/ Smart Key System:

(1) Connect the connector and cooler thermistor.

(2) Attach the 4 clips to install the lower instrument panel finish panel assembly.

25. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH

26. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH

27. INSTALL NO. 1 ASSIST GRIP

28. INSTALL ASSIST GRIP PLUG

29. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

30. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH

HINT:

Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

31. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH

32. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH

HINT:

Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

33. INSTALL DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH

34. INSTALL DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY RH

HINT:

Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

35. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

37. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
